Biography Andy Griffiths

Andy Griffiths is the author of many books ranging from nonsense verse and short stories to comic novels.

His books include the extremely popular JUST! series of short stories, which has sold over two million copies world wide and been adapted as a television cartoon series called What's with Andy?; the New York Times bestselling comic novels The Day My Bum Went Psycho, Zombie Bums from Uranus and Bumageddon: The final pongflict.

His other books, all illustrated by Terry Denton, include the children's choice award-winning favourite The Bad Book (2004), The Cat on the Mat is Flat (2006) and What Bumosaur is That (2007).

Andy is currently working on a sixth JUST! book called Just Shocking! (October 2007), a follow up to The Cat on the Mat is Flat with Terry Denton called The Big Fat Cow That Went Kapow, and Just Macbeth! an adaptation of Macbeth for the Bell Shakespeare Company's Bardistic Adventures programme which is taking Shakespeare's work to children as young as five.

Andy's books are published in Australia, the US, the UK, Brazil, Russia, China, Hungary and Romania.

Zombie Bums from Uranus debuted at number 6 on the New York Times Children's Bestseller List joining The Day My Butt Went Psycho as a New York Times best seller. Both titles also made the USA Today bestseller list.

Mascot Madness, part of the Schooling Around series, has been released in the USA (US cover version available, above right- Australian version due in March, 2009. Robert Riot, is due out later in 2009.

Just Macbeth!

In 2007, Griffiths wrote Just Macbeth!, a modern version of the play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, starred by the Just! series characters. It was produced by Bell Shakespeare Company.
